The impeachment trial of the controversial United State of America's President started on Thursday, January 16,  2020. 


The impeachment trial of President Donald Trump started with the swearing in of senators and the presentation of the two charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

John G. Roberts Jr., Chief Justice of the United States, was sworn in to preside over the trial, which is focused on Trump’s conduct toward Ukraine.

The impeachment charges center on the allegation that Trump withheld military aid and a White House meeting to pressure Ukraine to investigate his political rivals, including former Vice president Joe Biden.

The trial which Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, has said will proceed “in earnest” next week, could lead to an end for Donald Trump where the Senate determines his guilt and ultimately sets a precedence for the first President of United States of America to be removed from office or could turn out to be just another trial that would be sheltered in bi-partisan politics and he will be acquitted of his charges.

The boastful President known for his loud mouth, is rather confident and the world is watching of what says the United State of America's government and politics.
