How This 23-Year-Old Bride Died On The Way To Her Wedding
A young woman was killed in a head-on car crash on her own wedding day as she drove to meet her groom.
Guzel Zakirova’s car was involved in the collision in the region of Bashkortostan in Russia, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 23-year-old had already had her hair done for the big day and was driving to meet her fiance Ilnar Shafikov.
But her Lana crashed into a Nissan, which was overtaking another car on a busy road. Miss Zakirova’s female passenger was badly injured and hospitalised along with the two people inside the Nissan.
Relatives arranged a funeral instead of celebrating her wedding, and her 26-year-old fiance was reportedly the last person to leave the cemetery.
His mother, Alfiya Shafikova said: "They had such a bright, strong love. He was madly in love with her.
"He would call her after waking up in the morning, and in the evening when he was back home from work. He had her photos on his phone, on his computer.
"I don’t know how will he live now."

Crash site at 23 kilometre of the highway connecting Bishkurayevo and Novy Bishindy, not too far from the village of Atnagulovo.
Guzel Zakirova, 23, was to get married later that day.
