Willy Wonka Meets Tom & Jerry In Odd Trailer
Warner Bros. Animation has premiered the trailer for the just announced and downright odd looking “Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”.
The project would appear to be a low-cost animated feature adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” one obviously influenced by the Gene Wilder-led 1970s film adaptation to the point of some shot-for-shot recreations.
Where it gets more strange though is that iconic Looney Tunes characters, Tom and Jerry are amidst the action as Charlie’s pets – and interact in such a way it looks like they were drawn into the existing ‘Wonka’ movie after the fact – which makes this mashup play out more like a strange fan film.
“Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” is due for release on home video later this year.
