Manchester United Transfer Report: Valencia Join Race For Red Devils Target Lassana Diarra
The 31-year-old has been in fine form since joining Marseille in the summer of 2015, and he is now back in the fold with the France team.
As a result, United boss Mourinho has reportedly been tracking Diarra and the Red Devils were linked with a move for him earlier on in the transfer window.
However, according to Foot Mercato, if the manager does want to bring Diarra to Old Trafford he is going to have to fight off competition from Valencia.
The Spanish side, who struggled in the first half of the season, currently sit 15th in the LaLiga table and are desperately looking for reinforcements this January.
Diarra held preliminary talks with Valencia over the weekend and further negotiations are now scheduled for this week.
