Tammy Abraham Is The Future Of Chelsea - Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte has labelled Tammy Abraham as the future of Chelsea after his scintillating spell on loan at Bristol City.

The Italian manager was speaking on Tuesday ahead of his side’s EFL Cup last-16 clash against West Ham on Wednesday night.

He was asked about his full-time exchange with Jose Mourinho at the weekend, playing a 3-5-2, playing West Ham and a number of other things.

But it was particularly interesting to hear him speak about loan star Abraham, who is setting the Championship alight.

Bristol City sit in sixth after 14 games and have the young striker to thank for their brilliant start to the season.

Abraham had scored 11 goals in 17 appearances since joining the Ashton Gate club and was just this week awarded the EFL Young Player of the Month award for September.

So it’s no surprise he’s caught Conte’s attention, with the former Juve boss insisting he’s part of Chelsea’s future.

Conte said: “He is another young player. He is the future for Chelsea for sure and he’s very young and I saw him only one week during the press-season in America and we decided to send him to play in every game and get experience.

"I’m sure. He has great potential. But I think the academy is working very well and we have Solanke, Aina, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek.

"There are four good young players. If I decide to put them in it’s only because I trust them. Not to make a gift to them.”

Chelsea boast some of the best youngsters in Europe, so it only makes sense that Conte is prepared to offer them a chance to impress at the highest level.
