Wanted Ex-Governor, Shema Submits Self To EFCC

Former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema, who was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has turned himself in to the anti-graft agency on Friday.

According to Premium Times, Shema’s spokesperson, confirmed that his principal arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 9:30 a.m on Friday.

“Shema went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.

“He’s a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear,” the spokesperson said.

Shema was declared wanted on Wednesday for “criminal conspiracy, inflation of contract, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of Naira”.

The former governor, however, denied the allegations, accusing his successor, Governor Bello Masari of sending the EFCC after him.
