Jonjo Shelvey Comments On Moussa Sissoko's Attitude At Newcastle Before He Left For Tottenham

Newcastle United midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey, has said that Moussa Sissoko had a great attitude in training towards the end of his time at the club, despite making it clear he wanted a move away from St James' Park. 

Sissoko eventually completed a deal to Tottenham Hotspur, reported by BBC Sport to be worth around £30 million on the final day of the transfer window.




 Shelvey told the Chronicle: “Moussa (Sissoko) was still here right up the final week, and to be fair to him, he was training really well.

“He had a great attitude, but you could tell he wanted to leave and he came out and said that. All the best to him."

Some may question the attitude of Sissoko, and other players that led to the side ultimately being relegated from the Premier League last season.



However, Sissoko impressed in flashes for France at the European Championships and got his move to a Premier League club competing in the Champions League.

 It's a good sign for Newcastle that there was no disruption on Sissoko's part during his final days at the club, and judging by Shelvey's comments, seemed to prepare as if he was ready to play the next game for Newcastle, or be around at the club even once the deadline had passed.

 Sissoko could be in line for his Tottenham debut in the next week or so. Spurs travel to Stoke City this weekend before they get their Champions League campaign underway against Monaco.
