Pochettino Delivers Latest Tottenham Injury Update Ahead Of Palace Clash

Mauricio Pochettino says Hugo Lloris has suffered a minor injury and Michel Vorm will deputise for the Frenchman ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The France international was forced off in the first half of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park in their Premier League opener on Saturday afternoon.

Lloris didn’t train with the Spurs squad as Pochettino put his players through their paces at Wembley earlier this week. And the Tottenham manager revealed that the shot stopper is recovering from a minor problem and Netherlands international Vorm will replace Lloris for the visit of Palace.

"The good thing is that Lloris only has a minor injury and he will be with the team very soon," Pochettino told his pre-match media conference ahead of Saturday’s game.

On Vorm, Pochettino said: "We trust in Michel and he is doing well. In the pre-season from day one he was the first option keeper and he played a lot of friendly games so he is ready to compete.

"He is a keeper with a lot of experience in the Premier League and in international football. There is no doubt about his quality."

Tottenham came from behind to rescue a point on Merseyside last weekend after Argentina international Erik Lamela cancelled Ross Barkley’s opener at Goodison Park.

The north London side finished in third place in the Premier League table last season after a four-game winless run to end the campaign allowed Leicester City to win the top-flight crown.

Spurs’s third-place finish did secure a return to Europe’s premier club competition.
