Ife Traditional Council Announces Demise Of Ooni
Members
of the Ife Traditional Council have finally announced the demise of
the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II.
This
declaration brings to rest all the reports making the round on the
demise of the Ooni of Ife in a London hospital.
Led
by the Obalufe Of Iremo Quarters, Oba Samuel Omisakin, told Governor
Rauf Aregbesola that the delay in the announcement of the first class
traditional ruler's death is to enable the traditional heads follow
the necessary cultural rites befitting the status of the Oba before
the final public declaration.
The
Eldest son of Late Oba Okunade Sijuade, Adetokunbo Sijuade said the
body of the monarch will arrive Ile-Ife tomorrow and the monarch
will be buried on Friday.
Governor
Rauf Aregbesola thanked the Traditional Council for the wisdom
applied in handling the demise of Oba Okunade Sijuade.
He
eulogized the late monarch saying he had so much respect for
tradition and culture and as such not only will the People of Osun
feel his loss but the entire nation.
