Chief Medical Directors Appeal To Striking Resident Doctors
The committee
of Chief Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals, has appealed to
striking Resident Doctors in the 42 tertiary hospitals across the country to return to
work.
After the
committee’s close door meeting in Abuja, the Chairman of the committee, Mr
Peter Alabi told Channels Television that the industrial action has affected
the hospital as majority of them are unable to perform optimally since the
strike.
Mr Alabi
who is also the Chief Medical Director of the University of Abuja Teaching
Hospital, also affected by the strike, called on the doctors to call off the
strike as government was already taking steps to address their demands.
The committee
also appealed to the Federal Government to release funds to address the
financial exigency in the sector.
